Windsor City FC Hosts Pickering FC in Matchweek 6 Showdown at Acumen Stadium

Windsor, ON – May 23, 2025 – Windsor City FC returns home to Acumen Stadium at St. Clair College this Sunday, May 25 at 2:00 PM for a pivotal Matchweek 6 clash in the 2025 League1 Ontario Championship Division season. The match marks the second in a back-to-back series against Pickering FC, after the Rose City side fell 2-1 on the road last Saturday, May 17.

Despite the result, the team is showing signs of offensive life. After being held scoreless in the first three matches of the campaign, Windsor has now netted 4 goals in the last three games, including a thrilling two-goal performance that handed then-undefeated Whitby FC their first loss of the season—Windsor’s first win of 2025.

Looking to rebound from last weekend’s defeat, the squad will take confidence from last year’s home fixture, when they defeated Pickering 2-1 in front of the home crowd.

However, the task won’t be easy. Pickering FC, currently sitting seventh in the standings, boasts an explosive attack led by Ayomide Abobare, who has already found the back of the net four times this season. Also dangerous is Myro Zastavnyy, who has eight goals to his name in 2025 and was a Second Team All-Star selection last year.
