Windsor, October 10, 2020: Windsor TFC (WTFC) is pleased to announce the hiring of its first full time Head Coach and Technical Director. Valter Cosenza will join the Club on November 1 and begin the task of assembling the League 1 teams for 2021and provide technical and administrative support to the coaching staff for all of the regional and competitive teams’ needs under the WTFC umbrella.
Valter is a former accomplished professional who played 12 years in the Brazilian top league. His passion for the beautiful game and desire to teach led to his pursuit of a Brazilian A and Canadian National B Licenses after his retirement. Valter earned degrees in Physical Education and post graduate degrees in Multi-Sport Management as well as Sports Training for Children. He speaks four languages, Portuguese, Spanish, English and Italian that he picked up while in Italy to complete his career. He moved to Canada 8 years ago with his wife Gabi and recently became Canadian citizens along with their two young children. For the past 7 years, Valter was a technical director of Power Soccer, a greater Toronto area soccer academy.

This is something we have lacked in our program and we are happy to make the investment in Valter”, said Vancho Cirovski, president of WTFC.
“WTFC has tremendous potential for player development and to build a long-term program that will expose players to higher levels of play. My family has fallen in love with the city just from two visits. We look forward to joining the WTFC team, the soccer community and to make new friends”, commented Valter.
Chris Pozniak, Toronto FC’s Affiliate Clubs Liaison, who has worked alongside Valter also commented: “I am excited to collaborate again with Valter after our time at Power Soccer Academy, he brings a unique outlook on the game through his experience as a professional, formal education in physical development and coaching experience with both soccer and futsal. We welcome Valter to the TFC family”, said Pozniak.
Valter played professional football in Brazil for Flamingo SP, Ferroviaria SP, Caxias RS, Vila Nova, Uberlanda MG, Santo Angelo RS, Uniao Barbarense SP, Desportiva Ferroviaria. He holds Brazilian National B and A Licenses, a Canadian National B License; License of Arts Degree in Physical Education (UNIP- 2008); Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physical Education (UNIP - 2010); Post Graduate Degree in Multi-Sport Center Management(UNIVAP-SP-2010); Post Graduate Degree in Youth SPorts Training (UNIVAP-SP- 2012); Performance Analysis (Universidade do Futebol - 2018).
